One of my new favorite hobbies is doing my nails.  Now, when I gain a new hobby, I spare no expense.  Ok, that’s a lie right off the bat.  I am frugal like nobody’s business and the words full price strung together are not in my vocabulary unless the sentence is “I never pay full price”.  Regardless, I stretch my pennies and find all the coolest doodads and accessories I can to do my nails.  I bought a million stinky bottles of polish, nail tape, rhinestones, fimo shapes, dotting tools, ant sized paint brushes…  I went all out.  Now have you ever tried to do your nails with a 4 month old and a 2 year old in your lap?  Yeah, me neither.  That is why my new hobby items are gathering dust.  Not to mention, those cute designs are HARD and time consuming.  My patience level = 1.2 on a 100 scale.  Pinterest, why must you make me feel like I let a blind monkey paint my nails??

I thought my adorable nail dreams were short lived until I discovered Jamberry nail wraps.  Now I have tried other nail wraps in the past, but they peel right off after a couple days or hours if you work with your hands a lot like I do.  I was challenged by Katie (http://www.touchofclass.jamberrynails.net) who is the AWESOME Jamberry sales rep who provided me with these wraps to try out, to do a 7 day challenge.  Well, since I am a polish hoarder and the past wraps I have tried made me angry, I decided to do my own version of her 7 day challenge.  I really wanted to put these wraps to the ultimate test, so I put a super, stinkin’ adorable wrap in the Summer Chevron pattern on my index finger.  It’s the finger that is use the most.  I wag it at my children, pick stickers off of furniture with it, and it gets the most abuse when I am doing hand sewing.  Guess what I had to do the week of this great challenge?  I had a gig to hand sew patches on a giant, heavy, filthy pool cover.  THIS would be the ultimate test for real!!  On my other fingers I used an Avon polish, a Maybelline polish with a glitter topcoat, a Sally Hansen polish, and a Revlon chunky glitter polish.

Katie told me she had a great video I should watch, but I am like a man trying to put together a crib and said, “Ha!  I got this…”  Needless to say, I didn’t have it.  The first one I had to peel off and throw away.  It was pretty sad, but as I should have known, acting like a man gets you nowhere.  So I went off to watch the video and round 2 worked out much better!!  Watch the video, people!!  Trust me!!  There is a bit of a learning curve, and I am sure I will get better at it as I play with them more, but holy guacamole!  There was such a difference between these wraps and the store bough ones.  They are bonded to your nail and don’t feel like a sticker!  WAY better quality!!  Not to mention the bajillion designs they have!  I want them ALL!!

I took a picture of my nails each night for 7 nights.  You could slowly see the nail polishes wearing away where the Jamberry wrap stayed looking perfect!  I even stabbed a sewing needle under the edge of that thing and it was hardly noticeable!  By the end of the week, all of 4 regular polishes had chipped and worn off; some worse than others, but there was the wrap, still intact, bright and gorgeous.  It peeled up a tiny bit at the end where I stabbed a needle under it and abused it quite a bit, but it far outlasted the regular polished with so many bonuses…  No stink, no mess, no waiting for it to dry, and it’s SO quick to apply!

You know what else is awesome?  Even if you aren’t a master ambidextrous, you can have awesome nails on BOTH hands!!  In the past when I have done cute designs on my nails, I would do a great job on my left hand and then do either a horrible job on my right or just leave them solid and sloppy.  I cannot, to save my life, paint my right hand in a decent fashion.  With these Jamberry wraps, it is SO easy to do both hands and have both look equally amazing and not like a blind monkey painted them!  I love that!!!  Who wouldn’t??

If you are like me and love to have adorable nails, but just don’t have the time to spend hours on a nail polish turkey (Yes, I did this once…), then you have GOT to try these wraps.  While they don’t have any turkeys this season, they have SO many cuter designs to choose from depending on your style and need.  I personally am a HUGE fan of holidays and Jamberry has the most adorable Halloween designs!  Seriously, the hardest problem you will have with these is picking out which one to buy and wear!  They are all so awesome!  You can mix and match the designs.  The possibilities are endless!!  There are over 150 new designs, multiple finishes (Hello amazing matte nails!!), and even sheets of wraps that include more than one style for us indecisive mamas!!
