The Japanese Konjac Sponge

I love trying interesting new things that I have never heard of.  I was send this really cool sponge to use and give my opinion about.  The Japanese Konjac Sponge kind of looks like a piece of charcoal on a rope when you first take it out of the package.  When it is not soft, it kind of has a pumice stone texture.  You need to let it absorb water for it to become soft and squishy.  The first time, I set it in the baby’s rinse pitcher while I was washing my hair.  After a few minutes, it was ready to use.  It can take up to 15 minutes of soaking for the first use.

What in the world is Konjac??  I had never heard of it either so I checked out their website and learned all about it.  The Konjac plant is a very elastic fiber that is very good at holding water.  The sponge gets so soft and gentle that it is safe to use on a babies.  The 100% natural sponge is very good at cleansing the skin on its own but can also be used with your preferred face wash.

There are different types of Konjac Sponges and the specific one that I tried had activated bamboo charcoal mixed into the sponge.  The bamboo charcoal draws dirt from your pores leaving you face more clear!  It also keeps my skin less shiny and more soft!  I would love to try the other sponges, especially the Cherry Blossom!

Which Konjac sponge would you want to try??
