I was super excited to try out the Nut Milk Bag from Micronmesh.  I recently discovered a lactose intolerance, so I have been drinking almond milk in place of dairy milk.  I have been wanting to try my hand at making my own almond milk for a while, but I didn’t have any of these handy milk bags…

Until now!  I got to sample the Micronmesh Nut Milk Bag and was surprised by how easy it was to make my own almond milk.  Of course, it doesn’t taste like the crap you buy in stores because it isn’t full of all of those unnecessary ingredients.  You need to soak your nuts or seeds for 12 hours, then blend them with fresh water and strain them through the bag.  I will be posting a step by step tutorial this next week, including a recipe that I love.

The bags do double duty by giving you a great pulp that you can use to make crackers or other foods.  You can also use them for pressing cheese, straining jelly, making coffee and SO many more things!!  I just LOVE mine!! I have only used mine for almond milk so far.  You can even add ingredients to your almond milk to make it flavored, which is pretty darn awesome!!

This giveaway is going to be an extra special one.  To enter to win, you will need to submit a recipe that you would use with your nut milk bag.  Of those five winners, they will each have a chance to win a $50 amazon gift card once they submit their recipe made with their nut milk bag on Pinterest.

If you’d like to enter to win one of FIVE nut milk bags, follow the steps on the widget below!  View our complete giveaway rules.  Winners will be selected and posted on our Facebook page next Saturday!

  1. I will make almond milk with my bag! 1 cup soaked almonds, 16 cups of water, and a half teaspoon of glucomannan. We are on a journey to better health as a family so we kicked cows milk to the curb, and almost all affordable almond milk options have carrageenan, so I am going to start making my own. This would be amazing for my family!

  2. I’d use it for many different things… Definitely to make homemade nut milks (yum!) , but also for things like making ghee, and straining out seeds from fruits like raspberry and blackberrys.

  3. I would love to give making our own almond milk a try. It is really expensive to use as a primary milk if you eat any cereal..

  4. I would make peanut butter smoothies. With frozen bananas, honey, almond milk and peanut butter.
