I am so excited about this upcoming event in my city! Some of you may know that I am a seamstress. I went to the Art Institute of Dallas and graduated in 2005 with a degree in Fashion Design. Fashion has always been a passion of mine and likely always will be. I also am a huge lover of vintage and antiques. There’s just something about things from times past that intrigues me. Things were made different back then and I love to see the intricate beauty in things that aren’t made of cheap plastic.
The 42nd annual Antique Elegance Show will be held on February 14th and 15th at the Richardson Civic Center. The admission for the Antique Show is only $6 which gets you in to both days. Usually, these type of events you will want to plan on going both days. There will likely be SO much to see that you won’t get through it all in one day. This is a great opportunity to take your children to see clothing, toys, furniture and so much more from generations past. It’s very important to show our little ones how things have changed. They will be fascinated by seeing how different the toys that they play with today are or how more detailed the furniture is.
The Antique Elegance Show will also be hosting a Fashion Show and Tea that I will be reviewing for you!! Sadly, the fashion show is sold out, but you can still get tickets to the Antique Show itself. There will be a fun Vintage Fashion contest at noon on Saturday, so come dressed in your best Vintage or Steampunk Ensemble. Prizes will be awarded for these two best outfits!
You can also learn about the art of Charles Gibson, Howard Chandler Christy and Harrison Fisher on Sunday at 2pm. This event is included in your ticket admission. There will be over 25 dealers at the show so there will be a TON of great stuff to see! For more details about this event, check out their website! Also, if you aren’t a Dallas-Fort Worth local, you may also be near another Vintage Show!
I am a Crunchy Mama of 5 rowdy boys and 2 sweet girls! I also gave birth to a baby girl in January 2016 for an awesome couple as their surrogate. I married my awesome husband, Brian in October 2016 and we are located in a little city outside of Dallas, Texas. I am a jill-of-many-trades. I run a laundry service, do custom sewing and even sell lactation cookies to my locals. I love to shop at thrift stores, take showers without an audience and spend time dreaming of a life off the grid! Follow me on Instagram for behind-the-scenes photos in the life of my crunchy family!
