How to make reading more fun

When I was in school, we had Accelerated Reader Tests, or ARTs. I did them one year before backing out and stopping: I didn’t enjoy reading the books within my eighth grade level; I preferred the young adult/new adult mystery fiction novels by Lois Duncan (RIP) on a shelf in my journalism teacher’s room more. […]

How to create a pet-friendly garden

Regardless of whether your pet spends more time indoors or outdoors, they will still need adequate physical activity during the day. If you’re blessed with garden space, you can effectively create a beautiful natural refuge for both you and your pet. However, in order to create a lovely garden area your pet can use for playing and running around just as much as you can use it for relaxing, you need to consider several different aspects. […]

It’s been a while…

Oh, hi!  It’s been quite a while since I have been on here.  Last year was a doozy.  There was some extreme ups at the beginning of the year and then everything kind of fell apart for a while.  Lots of extreme downs.  Loss, abuse, depression, stress, sadness, confusion.

2016 was not always kind to me. […]

Organize Your Life!

I can’t remember one minute to the next with all of the things I have going on in my life. All of the kids, all of the jobs, all of the school events, Navigators events, family events… I could go on and on for days. I am terrible at keeping track of things, so it is very important that I write everything down. An awesome planner lets me be responsible and have fun because I can customize and decorate it all I want. […]

Review: Neilmed Naspira Nasal-Oral Aspirator

I received from product via MomsMeet in exchange for my honest opinion.

Let’s see a show of hands…  Who loves to suck out their baby’s snot?  Me??  HECK YES I DO.  Ok, no.  I don’t really, but sometimes it is a necessary evil.  When kids get sick, they get stuffy noses.  When kids get stuffy noses, they get cranky.  They can’t breathe.  No one is happy.

Have you ever tried one of those big blue or green bulb suckers?  You have to shove that giant tip into your baby’s tiny nostril and try not to suck their brain out in the process.  I have never been able to achieve such a task without wailing and flailing.

The Neilmed Naspira is a new-fangled nose sucker.  It has the features and functions of the regular type of bulb sucker that you know and may or may not love as well as the option to be a Nasal-Oral suction device.  I know.  It sounds gross.  Believe me, the first few times I try these type of things, I always dry heave a bit, but they are SO effective.  They are actually quite amusing once you get the hang of it. Review: al fresco Sweet Apple Chicken Sausage with Giveaway

I was sent a sample of the Sweet Apple Chicken Sausage from al fresco as well as a pack of the precooked chicken bacon to test out in some recipes.  I think I was more excited about the bacon because, well…  BACON!!  It’s precooked so that makes my life ten times easier.  I hate cooking bacon.  It’s literally on my top five list of despised activities.

For my first recipe, I decided to make some breakfast tacos after dropping the boys at the bus one morning.  I used a couple pieces of bacon because I knew I wanted to save the sausage for a meal when all of the kids were home so I could see how they liked it. […]
