I received a copy of both books for review via NetGalley.

The Dallas Arboretum is one of my favorite places to go around the DFW area. I received complimentary tickets to take my family to visit for their fall pumpkin exhibit which I have been wanting to check out again for YEARS. The last time I was there for this exhibit, my oldest (who is 12!!) was in Pre-K. Fall is definitely my favorite season and our last trip to the Arboretum, we just missed the pumpkin display. This year, there was a really cool Wizard of Oz theme that we all enjoyed.
It was a little windy, but otherwise, the weather was perfect. My second oldest, Remy, was being a grouch which is why he isn’t in a couple of the group pictures but once he remembered how awesome the Arboretum was, he started having fun. What I love most about this place is that it gives me a great backdrop for super cute pictures to send to family AND there are loads of things for my kids to do so they don’t get BOOOORRRREEEEDDD.
The Children’s Garden is full of fun activities that teach you about things like solar power and water energy. My kids really love playing in the water as well as in the big tree house. Ok, maybe my four-year-old wasn’t a huge fan of the tree house. He isn’t much for heights and I can’t blame him there. We had fun getting lost in the maze though! I received from product via MomsMeet in exchange for my honest opinion.
Let’s see a show of hands… Who loves to suck out their baby’s snot? Me?? HECK YES I DO. Ok, no. I don’t really, but sometimes it is a necessary evil. When kids get sick, they get stuffy noses. When kids get stuffy noses, they get cranky. They can’t breathe. No one is happy.
Have you ever tried one of those big blue or green bulb suckers? You have to shove that giant tip into your baby’s tiny nostril and try not to suck their brain out in the process. I have never been able to achieve such a task without wailing and flailing.
The Neilmed Naspira is a new-fangled nose sucker. It has the features and functions of the regular type of bulb sucker that you know and may or may not love as well as the option to be a Nasal-Oral suction device. I know. It sounds gross. Believe me, the first few times I try these type of things, I always dry heave a bit, but they are SO effective. They are actually quite amusing once you get the hang of it. I was sent a sample of the Sweet Apple Chicken Sausage from al fresco as well as a pack of the precooked chicken bacon to test out in some recipes. I think I was more excited about the bacon because, well… BACON!! […] Continue reading » “Review: al fresco Sweet Apple Chicken Sausage with Giveaway”
I have been pumping since four days post-partum to give Laken the most precious gift of breast milk. At first, I was using the Ameda Purely Yours pump that I had. It was working, but I was having a hard time with sore nipples and I was getting clogs. I had heard in some of my surrogacy and exclusively pumping Facebook groups that the Spectra line of pumps were REALLY good.
I got in touch with Brianne at Spectra Baby USA and she hooked me up with the Spectra S1. I immediately fell in love with this pump. There are so many wonderful features that this pump has. Let me tell you about all of the pros. […] Continue reading » “Review: Spectra S1 Breast Pump + Giveaway”
We love to do things as a family and living in Texas, one of the best things you can do when Fall comes around is to go to the State Fair of Texas. We were invited to visit the fair this past weekend and were super excited about it! When we first got there, my boys ran straight towards the rides. I had a plan and it flew right out of the window! Since mom staring at her carefully planned itinerary and map is “boring”, I just went with it and off to the rides we went. There are TONS of rides for all ages and my four year old, Chevy, was actually tall enough to ride some all by himself. He was SO excited!! […] Continue reading » “The 2015 State Fair of Texas”
If you own ANYTHING that is stainless steel, you know how much of a pain in the ass it is to clean. Seriously, I cannot tell you how many times I have tried different sprays, powders, lotions and potions to get my mom’s refrigerator and other kitchen appliances not only CLEAN, but streak-free. That is the biggest issue. The streaks.
Although they are very sleek and modern looking, stainless steel appliances collect grime and fingerprints super easily. My mom’s refrigerator always looked so grungy and I could never keep it looking nice until I got to try out the Stainless Steel Pack from e-cloth.
The Stainless Steel Pack comes with two different cloths. The Stainless Steel cloth has a scrubby texture that is perfect for getting your appliances clean and free of all of the grime. The best part is that you don’t have to use any kind of chemicals or cleaners with the cloth. WATER ONLY!! The Finishing Cloth is used dry after cleaning off the appliance to remove fingerprints, water spots and other smudges. I could not believe how easy it was to get these items clean and without the use of the pile of cleaners that I was convinced were necessary! […] Continue reading » “Review: e-cloth Stainless Steel Pack + Giveaway”

Yurtcraft is run by Lisa and opened way back when in 2008. Approximately seven years and over 5,000 reviews later, I came across the shop somehow… I’m not sure if it was via a video review or just by looking. […] Continue reading » “Yurtcraft Review (and other notes)”
