Why Choose a Non-Toxic Oven Cleaner?

Conventional oven cleaners often contain strong acids, sodium hydroxide, and other toxic chemicals that can harm your respiratory system and the environment. Using natural ingredients like lemon juice and distilled vinegar not only avoids these harmful substances but also ensures that your oven surfaces are safe for food preparation.

Supplies You’ll Need

The supplies needed for this DIY oven cleaner are basic and easy to find, making it a convenient and cost-effective solution.

We prefer using glass spray bottles over plastic because glass is more durable, doesn’t leach chemicals, and is environmentally friendly.

Glass bottles can also be reused countless times, reducing waste and ensuring that your cleaning solutions remain pure and uncontaminated.

This small change not only helps the environment but also aligns with a natural, sustainable lifestyle.

How to Use Your DIY Oven Cleaner

To use this cleaning solution, spray it on the surface you want to clean. Let it sit overnight for the best results. Then, simply wipe clean with a damp cloth.

For Oven Cleaning:

  • Cold Oven Only: Do NOT use heat. Spray the solution generously inside your cold oven, including the oven door, oven racks, and the bottom of your oven. Let it sit for a couple of hours or overnight.
  • Wipe Clean: After letting it sit, wipe away the solution with a microfiber cloth or a damp cloth. For tougher spots or baked-on grease, use a plastic scraper or a rubber spatula.
  • No Harsh Chemicals: This method avoids the use of harsh, chemical-based oven cleaners, making it safe for your home and family.
