Simple Ingredients for Your DIY After Sun Spray
One of the best things about this DIY after-sun spray is its simplicity. With just a few natural ingredients, you can whip up a skin-soothing mist in no time.
Aloe vera gel is the star of the show, known for its moisturizing and cooling properties, perfect for calming irritated skin. Whenever I get sunburn, aloe vera is always the first thing I turn to and it makes a big difference.
You can buy Aloe vera gel from many places, but here’s the one used in this recipe, bought from Amazon.
Essential oils like lavender and eucalyptus or peppermint not only add a lovely scent but also have skin-soothing benefits. Use whichever brand you prefer, some people like young living essential oils, or doterra – it is up to you.

Another great natural ingredient for skin irritations and sunburns is witch hazel. Our recipe does not include this, but if you’re looking for more options for your skin or don’t want to use aloe vera then search for a witch hazel based after sun as an alternative.
For your mini spray bottle, you can use a glass spray bottle to adds a touch of elegance to your homemade concoction, or a mini plastic spray bottle depending on your preferences. Using essential oils in your skincare routine is a wonderful way to harness the power of nature, and this spray is a fantastic introduction if you’re new to DIY skin care.

This is a great sustainable homemade aftercare skin care product. In Jamaica, aloe vera is often used for burns. They mostly drink it because it is said to cleanse the digestive system. Raw aloe Vera is sometimes applied to the face to tighten and firm the skin. Interesting post.

I love the idea of making my own skin care products, especially for my kids! Preventing all of the harsh chemicals, and knowing what I am putting on their skin is so important to me. We are an adventuring family, so we are naturally in the sun a lot. Thank you for this recipe so that now our skin will feel better afterwards 🙂
